Countryside Montessori Academy is a private Montessori school in Land O’ Lakes, Florida, serving children ages 18 months through Kindergarten. Located at 21404 Carson Dr., our academy has been part of the local early education community for decades, giving families a trusted place for their children to learn, grow, and prepare for the years ahead.

Countryside Montessori Academy was founded in 1985 by Mary Rivers and Karen Mantei. The school first opened in Lutz, where it became known for its thoughtful approach to early childhood education and its commitment to helping young children build confidence, independence, and strong learning habits.
In 1996, Countryside Montessori Academy expanded to its current campus on Carson Drive in Land O’ Lakes. This move allowed the school to serve more families while continuing the same values, classroom culture, and personal care that shaped its beginning.
Over the years, the Countryside Montessori name continued to grow. The school now also includes a Pasco County charter school serving students from 1st through 8th grade, giving families a broader educational path beyond the early childhood years.
In September 2024, the Carson Drive location began a new chapter when Amber Finkel and Greg Finkel purchased the school. They were drawn to Countryside Montessori Academy because of its long-standing reputation, experienced teachers, and strong connection to local families.
As the current owners, Amber and Greg are focused on preserving what has made the school meaningful while continuing to strengthen the experience for children, parents, and staff. Their goal is not to reinvent Countryside Montessori Academy, but to carry its legacy forward with steady leadership, thoughtful care, and a continued commitment to the families it serves.

Many members of our staff have been part of the Countryside Montessori community since the original Lutz location. That kind of long-term commitment is rare, and it matters.
