Learn About Our Montessori

Montessori for Ages 3-6

Maria Montessori, through years of observation and study of the child, developed a unique philosophy regarding the education of children. Her philosophy centers around her belief that "the hands are the instruments of man's intelligence" and that "only through freedom and environmental experience is it practically possible for human development to occur". Maria Montessori believed through careful preparation of the environment and materials that are self correcting that allow the child to learn through their own trials and errors.
Once called the 'Children's House' by Dr. Montessori the Primary Classroom includes children from ages 2 1/2 or 3 to 6 years old. Each classroom is equipped with materials that encourage interaction and independence. The classroom environment is separated into carefully constructed areas that enhance different aspects of the child's development.
